I would love for someone to roast my work like this every once in a while. Makes to take a step back and level up! You got lucky and got it from someone whose work you admire, so its even more meaningful. The sting will ware off after you've leveled up.
This reminds me of this PR guy that I met, who was critiquing our companies internal produced videos. When I asked him why he doesn't give this feedback to our internal video editor he said "These guys don't challenge themselves and they think what they're creating is good enough. They'll never improve, they can't improve."
He was right. That guy went on to create more videos at the same level and has never changed in anyway. He bought into one method and never challenged himself.
